Greek Goddess 2005 (Terra Cotta)

This sculpture was made in a workshop at the Armory Art Center as an exercise.  A live model was present and the exercise was to sculpt a face.  It was built solid out of terra cotta and then hollowed out.  The piece sat around at my house for about a year unglazed.  I wanted to decorate the sculpture in a way so that a color blind person could appreciate the design.  So I lifted the color palette from Bosom Bunny and applied it to Greek Goddess.  Since the hair was white at the start, I decorated the hair in black dots and lines.
